Our History

 1977
NeighbourLink was founded by Dr. Virgil Gulker, a social worker and outreach director in Holland Michigan, as a way to encourage churches to become more engaged with the poor and to inspire a greater number of Christians to put their faith in action.

It was clear to Dr. Gulker that if churches were to better serve their communities, they needed leadership, organization, training, encouragement, and prayer. He developed the Love INC model to fill these critical roles.

This "grass roots" approach of involving Christian volunteers to help their neighbours has expanded rapidly to involve thousands of churches from over 50 denominations in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Becoming A Member Church

Our office opened in December 1993.

NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton is owned and governed by its participating member churches through a Board of Directors.

Are you interested in becoming a NeighbourLink church?

We would love to come speak to you about joining the network of Christian churches within the Sarnia-Lambton area.

By joining, you are helping to meet the needs of our neighbours in a real and practical ways. Together we are making a difference in someone's life.

Member churches provide most of NeighbourLink's operating fund.

For as little as $ 3-5 per member family per year, (ex. 10 member families @ $5/family = $50 per year pledge), you can cover your church's portion of helping the cost to meet the needs of our neighbours throughout Sarnia-Lambton.
For more information please call our office at 519-336-5465. Our Director will arrange a convenient time to come meet with you

to answer any questions you may have.
